Custom development
We analyse the project before proposing anything. That analysis produces the solution that best fits what you need — not the one that suits us to sell — and often the answer is that no development is needed at all: something already exists that solves it.
When building makes sense
When commercial software does not cover the case, when the licence costs more than the problem it solves, or when there is an operational process being done by hand that could simply not be done at all.
In infrastructure that usually looks like small, very specific tools: a script that cross-references the network inventory against what monitoring reports, an exporter that enriches the data with the information the business actually cares about, a custom plugin to watch an application no standard plugin understands.
